Console here, and for so many of you that
have been writing me asking for a program just like this, your prayers
are answered. But first let me start at the
beginning. A few years ago, I wrote a program that did what
many people wanted. Automatically handicapped the races, and just gave
the selections. No ratings, no numbers, nothing but the names
of the horses to bet. It printed the entire days races all on
one easy to read sheet. But that's where it got a little
tricky. It was giving you the top play in every race. While
there were MANY days where Instapick SWEPT THE CARD.....yes 9 for 9
days have happened...there were also days that were not so good....even
0 for 9 days! With many projects on the fire, I did not get
back to revising Instapick until now. And so I introduce to
you, my hottest selling software....Instapick Pro Ultimate.
What is different
about Instapick Ultimate, versus the original Instapick Pro you may be
asking? Well you still get all 9 races handicapped on 1 easy
to read printout. However, now you will also be shown which
horses on that card are the best to wager on. You will be
shown which races to pass, and which to play. Very simple
too! The Ultimate horses to play will be hi-lighted
in bold! How much easier can it get? If you want to
just make simple win/place bets, just wager on the horses that are in
bold! That's it...nothing more to do! Plus you still will get
the regular plays if you are into pick 3'es, etc. But the
Ultimate plays will win at a much higher rate than the regular
ones! While the original Instapick was hitting about 25% to
36% wins depending on the track, you will now raise your hit rate to
closer to 65% (win/place). Over 40% on wins alone... and not
all will be chalk. Instapick Pro Ultimate will hand you some
nice winners too! Sure you will get those $4 and $5 pays, but
you will also hit your fair share of $12 to $15 horses. These
horses are Instapick plays that also qualify under a strict set of
rules, allowing you to hit so many, the prices will be an afterthought!

Asked Questions
Do I have to manually enter info in the
program?
No, just a few clicks of your mouse and you are done. You just need to
download the "single file format" of the DRF from BRIS. This
file costs only $1. InstaPick Pro Ultimate will read this
file, handicap all the races, and hand you the selections. A
full days races will take you about 3 minutes to complete....start to
finish.
What type computer do I need?
Any computer running Windows 98 up to XP will do fine. WILL
NOT RUN ON VISTA!! The program is shipped on a
CD. Floppy disks are not available, as the program is too
large for a floppy.
Can I really make money using this program?
The answer to this is 100%
yes. However it is up to the user to provide the last bit of
effort needed to do this. Here is what I
mean. InstaPick Pro Ultimate will give you the strongest
selections on the card to wager on. However it is up to the
user to be disciplined and consistent. You can't pass one race
because your buddy gave you a hot tip, then jump back to Instapick for
the next race, and so on. You must wager consistently and have
a business plan in mind. All of the handicapping is done for
you. So you just need to wager reasonably and with your
head...not you gut feelings.
What is the best way to wager using
InstaPick Ultimate?
I have found that betting to win and place on each selected
(underlined)play is best if you want to cut losing streaks and cash a
lot of tickets. When the horse does not win, many times it
does run second. So wager even amounts to win and place. This
will make long term consistent profits. Personally, the way I like to
wager is a bit riskier and not for all users. However I do
like to progress after losses. Not crazy progressions, but
mild ones. For example,
lets use $20 win bets. Let me show you how I would bet if I
ran into a 7 race losing streak:
$20
- $20 - $25 - $25 - $30 - $35 - $40
So I would start with $20
bets. If the first race lost I stay at $20. If I lose
again, I go to $25, etc. If I did lose 6 races, the 7th race I
would bet $40. I would never go above doubling my base
bet. So in this example, my base bet was $20, so $40 would be
the max bet no matter how many I lost.
7 losses in a row? Is that
common????
I am being 100% honest and up front with you. I am not going
to tell you that you will win 80% of your races and never lose more
than 2 in a row. No. The fact is, no matter what you
use in this game, you will hit losing streaks. THE GOOD NEWS
is no, you wont be hitting 7 race losing streaks all the
time. They will happen, but I have found that most commonly,
2-4 races lost in a row will happen, then just like that, you will hit
4 or 5 winners in a row. The program will average over 40%
wins on the underlined "Ultimate" plays, so if you lost 7 in a row,
that only means that winning 6 or 7 in a row is coming
up! Also, if you are betting win and place, your losing
streaks on the place end will be much shorter, thus making up for the
losses on the win end. To sumarize, hitting about 40% wins will keep
losing streals to a minimum, but every now and then they will pop
up. Just keep those long winning streaks in your memory to
wash away the losers. The bottom line is making an over-all profit.
Why do you use your other programs requiring
models and more work when InstaPick Ultimate does it all for you?
I know many of you have my other programs, such as URTI (Ultimate Race
Track Investor) and others. Well I do still use URTI for my
own wagering too. URTI will let me key in on specific races
where I know my chances are even greater. But it takes a lot
more work that InstaPick Pro Ultimate. Plus I also enjoy the
art of handicapping. I could spend hours handicapping races
without even wagering. For me that is fun. For
others, they just want solid plays and then go off to enjoy the races
and make some profits. For this type person, InstaPick Pro
Ultimate is the perfect program for them! The entire days
races are all printed out on one easy to read sheet, and thats it.
Do you play any "exotic" type wagers?
InstaPick Ultimate is geared more
towards win and place betting. That is where it is
strong. You will get selections in every race on the card
however. The ULTIMATE plays will be hilighted in
bold. These are the ones to really key in on. But you
will have regular InstaPick plays in all the other races
too. So you can use them for Daily Doubles, Pick 3's, Pick'4,s
and Pick 6's. Instapick Pro Ultimate has hit MANY PICK 6's at
tracks all over the country...on a straight $2 wager!
What do you mean "Alternates"?
In each race, you will be given a
FIRST PICK and 2 alternates. You mainly want to just use the
first pick. However, the alternates are there in case of
scratches. You will get Alternate #1 and Alternate #2. So if
the first pick gets scratched, Alternate #1 becomes the new first
pick. If that also gets scratched, use Alternate #
2. You are covered in the event of multiple scratches, without
having to do any extra work!
What about "OFF TRACKS"?
Personally, I cut way back on off
tracks. I also like to be getting value when the track is
off. I dont want to risk money on low priced horses when so
much can go wrong if the track is not fast. So when it rains,
or the track is anything other than FAST/FIRM, be
cautious. And use this advice no matter what you are using to
handicap with. Always be careful on off tracks!

sources?

Dear Tom:
I would like to comment on some of your
software programs that I use for my selections when I want to play the
races, and that is quite often. Some of the programs that I use are,
"URTI with the Auto Bet Selector,(Ultimate Race Track
Investor) your FG method (From The Gate which you have
incorporated into URTI) and the InstaPick Pro
Ultimate."
On average I will download 5-7 tracks from Bris,
(some tracks I play are: Aqueduct, Gulfstream Park, Finger
Lakes,Philadelphia, Mountaineer, Calder Race Course and Penn
National) The InstaPick is so easy to use that within minutes
I have a nice printout for my Ultimate
selections. I personally stick to the Ultimate plays
that are highlighted. I do not play every race on the card. I will say
that again "I DO NOT PLAY EVERY RACE ON THE CARD" (end of sermon) With
just the Ultimate selections, I've had payoffs from $4.00 up to $17.00
on average. Once in awhile I will cheat and play the non-highlighted
selections. All of my plays are based on the type of race it
is. Typical races I play are sprint
races from 5.5 to 7furlongs and some route races.
I've been using Instapick since April/2005 and the
bottom line is if it is used with consistency
and a good money management plan you will be
rewarded. Sure you will have losing streaks. Mine have been 3-5 races
in a row, but then the program bounces back with 4-6 winners in a row.
Tom, when I am making win bets, I do use your progressive method that
you have outlined in
the manual. I find that it helps me to
be disciplined with my wagers.
When I play exactas, depending on price, I will box
the UltimatePick with the 2 alternates,
or use the UltimatePick play as a key with the 2 alternates on top and
bottom.There are times when I will open up URTI and
use the FG horse in my
exactas,(provided it is a solid play) with the UltimatePick
and the 2 alternate plays. I have taken down some nice paying exactas
when the FG horse comes in with an
InstaPick play.
The only criticism that
I can make about InstaPick is that it is
a GREAT and FANTASTIC program.
Tom, you may not be the greatest,but you are in the
TOP TWO when it comes to your tech support and fast service. Keep up
the good work.

When I met Mr. Console in Las Vegas last summer, we exchanged many
ideas. I personally spent most of my life as a Wallstreet
investor, and have always been fascinated by numbers. Also,
having such a background helped me overcome what causes most
horseplayers to fail (in my opinion). Most panic when wagers
get too large or losing streaks occur. Mr. Console almost
laughed when I told him how I approached this game. For years
I used Sweeps selections, and constantly increased my wagers to recoup
all past losses, plus make my profit goal. It was not
uncommon for me to have my wagers exceed $2000 to win. A
large sum for many, but considering the sums I used to invest in stocks
and options, it did not worry me. Also, keep in mind, my
starting wager was $50. However, using Sweeps picks did run
me into some long losing steaks, thus my wagers would increase quite
rapidly. Mr. Console suggested I try something
better. He knew I had NO interest in handicapping
myself. So he handed me a printout from his InstaPick
program. He said to wager on the selections it gave, rather
than using my own way (Sweep). He also gave me some rules to
follow, to sort of "qualify" the selections. (At that time,
his current version of Instapick, Instapick Pro Ultimate, was not
completed.) I was impressed to say the least. I was
able to increase my base wager and daily win goal, as I never hit
another losing streak like I was used too.
Now I use the new version, InstaPick Ultimate, and for me, it is a
dream. I know most of you do not have it in you to be as
aggressive as I am. Ans that is 100% fine. I
progress after every loss. I don't recommend that to the
faint of heart. In fact, I don't recommend it to anyone,
UNLESS you have the resources and guts to play this way. I
use a bankroll that is TEN TIMES larger that what I anticipate my
highest wager to be, including all previous losses. Let me
explain. For example, when I played my old way (using Sweeps
se;ections), I told you I would commonly be up to $2000
wagers. When I did reach that point, I was usually down over
$5,000 on that string. Sure I would get it all back plus my
profit, but I had to stick with it. And to cover myself, like
I said, my bankroll was ten times my outlay. So in those days
I was using a $50,000 bankroll. Again, based on what I used
to invest in the markets, its a small figure to me. But I can
honestly tell anyone out there that is looking to earn money at the
races, this program will do you very well. I rarely lose more
than 4 in a row, and I constantly am winning 2,3,4...heck even as many
as 7 in a row! Since owning the program, my worst
case was 8 losses in a row, and that has only happened to me
once. My best was 7 wins in a row. So as you can
see, I never am at the progression level I used to commonly be at
playing my old way. And the bankroll I need is only a
fraction of what I used to have to carry. I have Mr. Console
to thank for this, and I hope that all my fellow handicappers soon
enjoy the same successes I do.

Dear Tom:
I got the new Instapick
Ultimate. I like it a lot better than the old
version. I dont like betting every race, so now I can just
print the one sheet and just play the suggested plays. If you
were wondering, so far I have tested on 3 tracks, and found 177 plays
out of the cards I have looked at...about 60 race cards (1 month at 3
different tracks). Of the 177 plays 68 of them won and 102
placed. The average win payoff of those 68 winners is $6.37
and the place payoff average is $4.08. Very good for
something automatic like this.

Hi Tom:
I noticed that if I only play
horses that you InstaPick Ultimate recommends that also have at least 2
speed points, it increases my win percentage even more.
WIthout it I hit 43 of 115 (37%) which is very good for an automatic
program, but when I used speed points I hit 40 of 90
(44.4%). I dont know if you looked into this, or if
it will hold up, but so far so good! Maybe you can post this
on your web page and others can check it at their tracks.
